ABOUT ME
Peter Newport is an photographic artist from Chicago, Illinois. His work currently delves into the ideas of memory and how fluid they are. He notes that each person's recollection of a moment varies, influenced by their unique perspective, shaping their worldview. Drawing inspiration from artists like Mariah Robertson, Daisuke Yokota, and Hanno Otten, Newport employs color variations and chemical processes to transform the intangible into tangible. Creating chemical reactions through the use of household cleaning items, Newport revisits these lost memories and vague moments throughout his childhood. Despite being colorblind, he visualizes these loose memories as a mix of hues and colors in his mind, a perspective he shares as he navigates through his stream of consciousness.
